11/22/22 Costa del Sol, Marbella Spain
Greetings from beautiful Costa del Sol, Spain
Beachside in Marbella Spain Promenade, Malaga, Spain
Tour guide Cindy and I have been resting and walking the beautiful city of Malaga the last three days. Fantastic walking and people watching here.
Estacion MaritimaChurch, Palacio Episcopal
Cathedral Malaga, Cindy attended Mass here on Sunday.
On Sunday we decided to take the bus down the promenade to a restaurant we’ve read about. Casa Manuel de La Lonja
BBQ in Malaga Prawns and Calamari with the local brew, Victoria That’s a restaurant with a view and also delicious!Marbella neighborhood.
Tour guide Cindy says, road trip to Marbella. We decide to bus there as it’s only two bus trips and a little over one hour from our home. Driving and parking in old city’s is very challenging in the narrow streets.
Marbella is famous for potted plants lining the streets in old town.Walking tour says tour guide Cindy. It’s all downhill from the bus station, but that means it’s all uphill going back🥵Lots and lots of condos , lots and lots of Brits.Short Promenade Beautiful modern square Lighthouse for tourists We stopped by the Central Mercado, not much happening it’s Monday. I did like this guy sharpening and selling knives Fun walking tour. I wasn’t too big a fan of Marbella, it’s a little touristy and crowded for our taste. The whole drive down the Costa del Sol is packed with condos and golf courses. Think Florida, Arizona and Mexico combined😜Ok, back home to Malaga and a cocktail on our balcony watching the sunset.
Happy thanksgiving to our US friends. We are planning a seaside BBQ for the holiday. Several more road-trips planned in the next week. We have 6 more days in Malaga.
P.S. We have walked almost 70 miles in the past week! Have to work off all that shrimp and calamari!
Looks like you all are living the dream! Was wondering if you have any recommendations on who you use to travel as far as agents go or if you do it all yourselves. My wife and I want to go to Italy next year and aren’t sure if we should plan it ourselves or go through a third party. Any info would be appreciated! Salute!
Hello,
We do all our own trip planning. Cindy really enjoys planning so for her it’s an extension of the trip. As far as if you need a travel agent, that’s basically up to your personality. Do you enjoy researching things? Do you like adventure? If you do I’d suggest planning your own trip. If not definitely travel agent!
We are retired so time isn’t our enemy, if you have a short time, again travel agent!
We’ve spent over 6 months in Italy and will be back again later for 6 more weeks, we’d be more than happy to give you ideas about what to see and do👍
Hi,
We plan our own trips , Cindy loves doing the planning. We are retired so we have the time to do that. We stay at Airbnb and vrbos. If you have the time and like to do research and plan, than do it yourself is 👍
Otherwise, using a travel agent works well. We have lots of friends who use AAA for travel advice and love them!
Thanks for the replies! I really appreciate it! We plan our own trips and stay at vrbos as well. Our thing is, we really only travel stateside so booking rental cars and vrbos overseas seems a bit scary when we have not done that before. If that is as easy to do as it is in the US then I guess we have nothing to worry about. But a foreign country is not what we are used to. We may still look into a travel agent.
