11/18/22 Malaga Spain

Sunrise from our balcony, Malaga Spain

Greetings from beautiful Malaga, Spain, where we awoke to a morning of rain, so I decided to write a quick blog post.

Your probably wondering, “where is Malaga Spain”? As we discussed yesterday, it’s part of the Costa del Sol of Spain.
Teatro Romano amid the ruins. Usual story in this part of the world.

Phoenicians started the city, 600 BC, then Greeks, Romans, Islamic rule, crusaders and plague. All leading to TOURISTS 😎 Actually, they have several industries in the area, including a Tech hub. But tourism drives the economy here. I’m sure in the summer it’s crazy here

Malecon, fantastic walking/bike riding and miles long
La Farola, the lighthouse in Malaga
Bet your wondering what that is?
It’s a bbq on the beach, called Chiringuito. Grilled sardines anyone? 🤔
Malaga harbor from Castillo de Gibralfaro, castle on the hill overlooking Malaga
Malaga bullring, about four blocks from our Airbnb. Cindy’s climbing the hill. Mikes people watching 😎
Christmas decorations are filling the city, beautiful Mediterranean style
Up to the top. Malaga from the top.
City hall, from the side, and surrounded by beautiful parks.
Ayuntamiento, city hall in Spanish.
Alcazaba, a military fortress, built in 1000 AD. We’re in the Central part of town.
Wide boulevards, tourists buildings, three cruise ships in town.
Beautiful, built for shopping and restaurants
Malaga Cathedral
Malaga cathedral from the front. Cindy’s going to mass here on Sunday.
Gardens surrounding the cathedral, beautiful. Mike will sit here whilst Cindy prays✔️
Cathedral from the garden, quite beautiful.
It’s like never ending spring here, quite lovely.
Ok, we deserve a little lunch after all that, tapas and vino.
This image is on the wall in the tapas taberna. It shows the essence of bullfighting!
Wild parrots are in every park in this part of Spain, They squawk like parrots do🤔
Hopefully, the rain doesn’t last too long and we get back out this afternoon and weekend. It’s been a very dry and hot year in Spain. They need the rain so we won’t complain 😎

Adios Amigos!
