10/20-10/21/22 Moneglia and Cinque Terra Italy

Greetings from beautiful Moneglia Italy.

Sunset from our new patio.

Where is Moneglia and Cinque Terre?

West and north of Tuscany. This area is the Italian Rivera and our new home, Moneglia, is famous for its beaches.
It’s on the Mediterranean Sea and as you can see the climate is very different than Piedmont.
Main Street, very quiet here as it’s too cool for the beach ( 75*)
View from our patio at night. Tour guide Cindy says, ok train trip and walking tour of Cinque Terre tomorrow. Get your new knee ready. Lots of hills , stairs and cobblestones.
First up, Riomaggiore

Cinque Terre means “ The five villages “ and that’s what they are, five villages connected by trails , rail and some cars. Tunnels run through the mountains. It’s like being on the subway, going from village to village.

Riomaggiore , wow!
Ferries run between the villages. It was too rough for us!
Beautiful.
Ciao! Ciao! Ciao!
Walking trail runs along the water, a lot are close It’s Italy!
Ok, quick train ride to Manarolo.
Wow!
Monarolo
You can see, the hills have been terraced over the years for agriculture. Grapes being the main crop back in the day. Now it’s tourist money😎
Now on to Vernazza, we skipped Corniglia today.
Last, but not least, Monterosso. We stayed here in 2013. It’s a wonderful village, our favorite of the five.
Harbor of Monterosso
Monterosso
Stairs to where we stayed in 2013
Monterosso, fun, fun day. Unlike Piedmont, where we heard no English. Cinque Terre is on the bucket list for folks young and old. It’s packed with tour groups from throughout the world.

Train Trip to the Saturday market today, in La Spezia. We love market days.

Thought we’d throw in a picture of the new grandson, thumbs up Nana and Grampy 😎
You know your in Italy with the scooters

Ciao Ciao Ciao
